BACK TO BASICS

Today we are going BACK TO BASICS

This week I am going to give you the low down on ALL of the items I could NOT live without in my nail room šŸŽ€

Some are quite obvious and others I'd prefer to gatekeeper but today I am going to spill all of the deets!!!

Let's begin...

1. Electric File/ Nail Drill

Girl if you are still hand filing what are you even doing?! No seriously, I would cancel a day of clients if my e file broke on me. It is an essential in my nail kit and never leaves my desk. If you are not e file trained, this is YOUR SIGN 🌟 to book onto a course asap! I use TMC e file 2.0

My fave drill bit for debulking product at the moment is the Coarse Barrel bit from TMC.
The drill is also a necessity for applying full cover tips. Don't walk, RUN šŸƒ

2. Dust Collector/ Extractor

Please, please, please save you lungs and your sinuses and get yourself a dust extractor. The amount of dust that goes flying around during the removal process/ prep process while doing a set of nails would shock you. A dust extractor is a NEED for your nail desk. I would not be able to complete a set of nails without one!

This one is from Lucy Pastorelli. It is wireless which is super handy. You just charge it up when it starts running low on battery.

3. White Shine Chrome

Now this product is one I would love to gatekeep šŸ˜„ with the chrome craze going on right now this is a MUST HAVE. I think my clients would start crying if I told them I ran out. this particular one is from Brillbird UK and it is called White Shine. It is quite literally PERFECTION.

The good news is, Brillbird have an Irish stockist, Kentro Ireland, so the Irish nail girlies do not have to pay customs on Brillbird products. This is the chrome I used for my cherry cola nails in my blog post a few weeks back!

4. Swatch Sticks and Stand

Swatch sticks make it super easy for your clients to flick through all the colours you have to choose from 🌈
I know that some nail techs have swatch books (which do look pretty cool) but my clients like being able to hold the colour up to their nail to decide if it suits or not. You can pick these up anywhere like Amazon or Shein!

When it comes to finding the little stand for the swatches the key is to search for "jewellery stand" and boom, there you have it 🤩 I got mine on Amazon.

5. Nail Art Palette

If you do a lot of nail art like me then you need to add this to you kit šŸŽØ Mine is just a little palette from Shein. When you have a palette like this you can blob the colours out on to it and pick them up with your brush/ dotting tool easily. I always keep mine in my nail art drawer or on my desk.

Always make sure to give it a good clean after using or else the polish could dry up and ruin it! But don't fear if that does happen because they are super cheap and easy to find.

6. Nail Art Brushes

To round up todays blog post we are going to talk nail art brushes. Every nail tech needs a liner brush. Or two. Or three. šŸ˜… a liner brush is an essential in my kit for creating the perfect French tip and crisp and defined nail art work.

I really like the Brillbird 0 Long and TMC Stripe Liner. The bristles on these brushes have a decent amount of length which allows for some wobbling if you have a shaky hand.

A flat gel brush is also one of my nail tech needs. I like having a couple of these for applying art gels. They also come in so handy for tidying up a French tip šŸ’…
